A lot of people are wondering if new European vault champion Ariella Kaeslin of Switzerland is the new Alicia Sacramone – they’re both blond, both do really nice layout Rudis, etc. But I tend to think that if anyone takes up Sacramone’s mantle, it’s likely to be little Yulia Berger of Russia, who effortlessly vaulted a Tsuk 1.5 and a tucked rudi to capture second place behind Kaeslin at the 2009 European Championships. I agree. For one, it feels like Kaeslin has been around too long to be ‘the new’ anything! But Julia Berger was really powerful and dynamic.

I don’t think Alicia has to worry. On the videos you posted here, three of the four vaults were landed well.
